Giuliano and Sparky went head-to-head to claim the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon on a bumper car at Drayton Manor theme park.

 

The boys faced off against each other to break the old record of  26hrs 9min & 45secs set by Marcus Gaines at Funland in Hayline Island earlier this year.

 

The duo started at 6am on Wednesday 14th August and at 8.10 today they claimed the record.

 

But …there could be only one record holder.  Who was going to give up first? In the end – a note was exchanged between the two.  Neither said what was in it. Sparky left his dodgem and Giuliano claimed the record.

 

Giuliano goes in the World record books as the person who has stayed in a dodgem car the longest – EVER.

 

The new record it set at 26hrs 51min & 8 seconds

 

This stunt was part of a marketing and PR campaign in conjunction with Drayton Manor Theme Park for naming rights of one of their busiest rides the good ol' dodgems.  The stunt provided on-air content, national press coverage, a buzz around the park, an ongoing branding opportunity and a great talking point.
