Innovation is exciting, in any field when something new comes out that shifts the goalposts there is always a great amount of hype around it. Recently I wrote about Pokemon Go, the impact of augmented reality on the world of gaming and how we never know when or what the next big thing will be. Today I discovered a contender.
Amazon Dash landed in the UK today and I can't get my head around how genius this product is. So simple in thought but it links the whole retail process up from discovering a need to convenience of order, easy payment and swift delivery. A sad day when the simple shopping list could be consigned to the history books.
Ok, this is still a very new product with limited brands attached to it, but those brands associated have the jump on their competition in making their way into household cupboards.
My mind is blown by the simple thought of pressing a button I've placed by the dog food when it runs out and that item is automatically pushed through my Amazon Prime account, ordered, packaged, dispatched and delivered for free within 24 hours, no need for a hungry dog again.
Get out of my head Amazon to quote Ron from the Harry Potter films on Hermione "You're a little scary sometimes, you know that? Brilliant... but scary".
